Volunteer Opportunities
Receptionist/Greeter:
Volunteers are needed to greet our clients and guest as they enter StreetWise. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday, 9:00-4:00. Position is divided into shifts among multiple volunteers.

Client Services: |
Intake volunteers:Meets with clients, gathers information, and shares the Hope of Jesus Christ. Volunteers are needed during each shift that covers Monday-Thursday, 9:30-3:30.
Kids room attendant:Supervises and watches over the children of clients while they are receiving assistance at StreetWise. Each kids' room attendant must attend training that will cover our Child Protection Policy. Two volunteers are needed during each shift that covers Monday-Thursday, 9:30-3:30.
Clothing room attendant:
Greets each client and assists them in shopping for the clothing needs of their family. Two volunteers are needed during each shift that covers Monday-Thursday, 9:30-3:30.
Food room attendant:
Greets each client and assists them in receiving the food for their family. Two volunteers are needed during each shift that covers Monday-Thursday, 9:30-3:30.

Client follow up:
Phone:
Volunteers are needed to make phone calls to follow up on the progress of our clients. Volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday, 9:30-3:30 and some evenings, 6:00-8:00PM.
Visit:
Volunteers are needed to form visitation teams to follow up on our clients. Volunteers are needed Saturdays 9:00-1:00.

Clerical Services:
Volunteers are needed to assist in the office in shifts that cover Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00. Responsibilities would include answering phones, greeting callers to StreetWise, assessing needs and scheduling client appointments. Other duties would include filing, data entry, and assisting in mailings. Volunteers with excellent computer skills and experience with Word and Excel are needed to assist with typing letters, updating database files and creating forms for the facility.

Teachers:
Volunteers are needed in areas of Bible studies for men, women, children/teens, financial seminars, parenting classes, job placement training, adult literacy, ESOL training, support group leaders. Number of volunteers and shifts available will largely be determined by teacher’s availability. Most classes will be offered during evening hours beginning at 6:30 PM. Days available are Monday-Thursday and some Saturdays.

Fundraising:
Volunteers are needed that have experience in “telling the story” to raise awareness for the financial support of StreetWise. Number of volunteers needed and times of service will vary and will work closely with the public relations volunteers.

Public Relations:
Volunteers are needed to help in community awareness of services provided by StreetWise. Number of volunteers needed and times of service will vary and will work closely with the fundraising volunteers. These volunteers will also put together and update monthly newsletters.

Website volunteer:
Volunteer will help keep website site updated with all the latest activities of StreetWise Georgia.

Event Planner:
Volunteers are needed to help with StreetWise events such as: Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, back to school, and family day events. A host of volunteers are needed for each event; however each event would have one event planner to coordinate efforts of volunteers. Volunteer positions are seasonal in need.

Cleaning/Janitorial:
Volunteers are needed to help keep the StreetWise facility clean. Volunteers would be needed on a weekly basis and schedules can be based on volunteer’s availability. Cleaning would need to take place prior to clients arriving or after client intake has ended. These volunteers will also assist in setting up for special events, trainings, seminars, etc.

Groundskeeper/Landscaping:
Volunteers are needed to help keep the grounds of StreetWise neat and clean. Most lawn maintenance would need to be weekly during the spring and summer months and minimal needs during the winter months. Parking lot maintenance would be needed on a weekly basis.
Volunteers that may be able to help with Pest Control services on a monthly basis would also be needed. Schedules can be based on volunteer’s availability. |
Library Volunteers:
Volunteers will catalog books, set up check out and return system. Monday-Thursday, 9:30-3:00.

Ladies of the Light Jewelry:
Volunteer will book events, handle sales and inventory. They will also teach clients to design and make jewelry for benefit of ministry opportunities.

Prayer Team:
Commit to praying for the needs of the ministry. Shifts would be available to cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Warehouse:
Volunteers are needed to sort through donations and organize them in a way that items are stored in an efficient manner. Volunteers will also be responsible for checking expiration dates on food and building food boxes for clients. Multiple volunteers are needed during each shift that cover Monday-Friday, 9:00-4:00.

Small Appliance Repairs/Testing:
Volunteers are needed that can test donated items for working condition. Ideally, a volunteer would be able to make small repairs to bring items into working order.

Handyman:
Volunteer with skills to help around the facility in small repairs or small construction projects. |
