StreetWise – Coronavirus Notice

As we follow the evolving story on the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to keep you informed on what we’re doing at Streetwise Georgia to continue providing services to those in need during this time.

First, please be mindful of the guidance from the Gwinnett County Health Department and the CDC specifically:

  • Stay home when you are sick and especially if you currently have a fever or have had a fever or symptoms of any illness in the last 48 hours.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Social Distancing – Remain at least 6 feet away from others in public.

We are committed to keeping our facilities clean and safe for our Clients and Volunteers, but beyond that, we’ve decided to change how our Client appointments will operate until further notice.

  • StreetWise will be open during Client appointment times on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
  • You MUST have a scheduled appointment to pick up food.
  • Clients are to stay in their vehicles, we will come out to you to load food, household, and hygiene items. *Make sure your truck is empty.
  • Please do not come if you are sick, or not feeling well.  Reschedule your appointment.

To make an appointment you can call 678-985-9952 or 678-985-9915 on Monday & Thursday between the hours of 10:15 AM & 1:00 PM. On Tuesday’s you can book online via our website at  streetwisegeorgia.org.

Remember Returning Clients can only make an appointment every 6 (six) weeks.

Our call volume is extremely high at this very difficult time, please be patient as we try to answer every call.  We are unable to return calls, therefore do not leave a message.

While we would prefer a more personable appointment, we have the responsibility of keeping our Volunteers and Clients as safe as possible.

We understand the need to avoid large gatherings and have some options for you to still take part in worship and prayer time; you can access sermons and devotions on many church websites.  A few that we prefer are:

StreetWise is staying in contact with the CDC of Atlanta and the Gwinnett County Health Department on updates to provide services safely and effectively. The Director of Communications for the Gwinnett County Health Department, Chad Wadsin, will contact us personally with any additional information if it changes. We will do our best to inform everyone through our website, social media outlets, and email.

While none of this is about panic, we still believe it is wise to be preventative. We’re doing everything we can to keep Streetwise as safe and clean as possible. Above all of this, we trust in a powerful God who has not given us a spirit of fear! Stay smart, stay healthy, and stay close to God through whatever life brings you.
