Honoring the Life and Legacy of Tracy Joseph

It is with profound sorrow that we share the sudden passing of our Executive Director, Tracy Joseph. Tracy was a faithful servant, a compassionate leader, and a man who deeply trusted God’s calling on his life and on this ministry.

Tracy believed wholeheartedly in the mission of StreetWise Georgia and in the dignity, worth, and God-given potential of every person we serve. His leadership was marked by humility, courage, and an unwavering commitment to walking alongside those God placed in his care. His legacy is woven into this ministry and into the many lives changed through his faithful service.

Scripture reminds us of this promise:

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your master.” — Matthew 25:21

As we grieve, we do so with hope, trusting that God is near to the brokenhearted and faithful to carry His work forward. The Board of Directors has met and taken steps to ensure continuity and care for our staff, volunteers, and community. An Interim Executive Director has been appointed, and our programs and services continue without interruption.

We are deeply grateful for the prayers, love, and support surrounding StreetWise Georgia during this tender season. We remain committed to honoring Tracy’s life and leadership by continuing the work God has entrusted to this ministry.

Thank you for the overwhelming love, encouragement, and prayers you have shared as we mourn the passing of our beloved Executive Director. Bio

Tracy Scott Joseph was a visionary leader whose life reflected faith, service, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others. Before becoming Executive Director & CEO of StreetWise Georgia, Tracy spent 24 years as the owner of a successful design/build firm, completing award‑winning historical renovations across California and Georgia and working with athletes, celebrities, and business leaders. He also traveled extensively as a professional trumpet musician—a testament to his creative spirit and entrepreneurial drive.

Tracy’s journey with StreetWise began in 2017 as a Mobile Food Pantry volunteer. His dedication quickly caught the attention of founder Terry Powell, leading to his appointment to the Board of Directors in 2019. Following Powell’s passing and the challenges of COVID‑19, Tracy stepped into the Executive Director role in December 2020—a calling he often said he never saw coming but felt God had prepared him for.

Under his leadership, StreetWise Georgia more than doubled the number of clients served and volunteer hours, expanded to over 200 annual food distributions, completed two major mergers, and grew into the 2nd largest agency among 773 partners of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Tracy also became a respected voice in the fight against food insecurity, serving on the ACFB Strategic Partner Cohort, the Gwinnett County Emergency Food Security Program Board, the ReCast Advisory Board, and the Gwinnett County Human Services Advisory Board, where he chaired the Food Insecurity Committee. In 2024, he was honored with the Professional Maximizer Award, and StreetWise received the Gwinnett Chamber “Community Contributor” Award.

Grounded in his Christian faith since age 16, Tracy lived out his beliefs through humility, service, and an unwavering commitment to restoring dignity and hope. He cherished time in botanical gardens, loved studying Scripture, and poured his heart into supporting families, teens, and his beloved daughter, Jenevieve.
